Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), formerly Marathwada University, is located in Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Republic of India. It is named after Bharat Ratna "Babasaheb" Ambedkar, an Indian jurist, political leader, academic and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. This university was established primarily on the initiative of Babasaheb Ambedkar so as to fill the huge lacuna of higher education facilities in western Vidarbh, Marathwada and North maharashtra region.The university was established on August 23, 1958.
This university has contributed to the progress of adjoining regions and people in innumerable ways.Since its inception, the university has around 428 colleges affiliated to it, which come under four districts (Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed and Osmanabad) of Maharashtra State. The student population exceeds 4,44,336.

About AIM
Atal Innovation Mission (AIM), NITI Aayog is the Government of India’s flagship initiative to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in the country and was set up in 2016. Towards this end, AIM has taken a holistic approach to ensure creation of a problem-solving innovative mindset in schools and creating an ecosystem of entrepreneurship in universities, research institutions, private and MSME sector. All the initiatives of AIM are currently monitored and managed systematically using real-time MIS systems and dynamic dashboards. AIM is also currently having its programs reviewed by third party agencies for ensuring continuous improvements.
To create an ever-evolving ecosystem of start-ups and entrepreneurs, AIM has been establishing world-class incubators called Atal Incubation Centres (AICs) at universities, institutions, and corporates among others. These Centres aim to foster and support world-class innovation, dynamic entrepreneurs who want to build scalable and sustainable enterprises.

Bajaj Incubation Centre
The proposed ‘Incubation Centre’ under Maharashtra State Innovation Start-up Policy –2018 is aimed to foster the ‘process of recombination of thought elements that is stimulated through conscious work at one point of time, resulting in some novel ideas at some later point of time’. The Centre aims to be a common platform for the students and faculties of the University and its underneath institution, individuals and established entrepreneurs to hone the necessary skills of market research, study of economic demands and accordingly shape the ideas to a marketable product; essentially, to the people of Marathwada (a geographic region encompassing Aurangabad, Jalna, Beed, Osmanabad, Latur, Parbhani and Nanded districts in Maharashtra) and, by and large, to the academic fabric of Maharashtra.

Maharashtra State Innovation Society
Maharashtra State Innovation Society (MSInS) is established under Departments of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of Maharashtra with an aim to foster innovative approaches and solutions to contribute towards minimization of the economic divides in the State. Society has been registered under Society Registration Act, 1860 On 18th August 2017. The society would act as nodal agency to boost innovation driven performance and efficiency in every sector. The main objective of the Society is to provide Innovation Promotion Platform to academics, entrepreneurs, researchers and Government drawing upon national and international experiences to foster a culture of innovation in the State.

Atal Incubation Centre
AIC BAMU FOUNDATION, promoted by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and Supported by Maharashtra State Innovation Society, Department of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. Of Maharashtra and Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, Govt. Of India, registered as a Section-8 Company under Companies Act 2013, aims to foster the culture of Innovation and entrepreneurship by supporting technology-based start-ups & developing an ecosystem which is conducive for innovation, where start-ups and new ventures thrive and Promotion of Start-ups / Angel Funding. It also has been providing the essential Highly equipped DGX, AI-ML laboratory, Innovation and invention Centre (IPR Centre), Co working spaces, specialized facilities — IOT Fab lab, sophisticated AR-VR laboratory, Central Digital Library Facility. AIC-BAMU invites innovative ideas in the field of IOT, AR, VR, ML in the areas of Healthcare, Auto-industrial applications and allied areas.
The Incubation Center is to nurture the student's idea to promote and encourage them to pursue a career in entrepreneurship. The Incubation Centre is committed to mentor, guide, and support and facilitate the budding entrepreneurs in successfully launching their ventures.
